Record or upload a session

The transcript is generated from meeting audio. You can record directly or upload existing audio files—transcription runs automatically in the background.

Audio files are not stored permanently

Audio is processed solely for transcription purposes. Once transcription is complete, the audio file is deleted. Only the encrypted transcript and the structured documentation remain in the file (AES-256-GCM, zero-knowledge).

Three Ways to Access the Dossier

How would you like to record the session?

  1. Open the file and go to the "Session" tab
  2. Click "Start Recording" — the browser will ask for microphone access once
  3. Recording is running in the background—you can continue working in the app
  4. Click "Stop Recording" — the transcription will start automatically
  5. The final transcript appears in the session overview of the dossier
💡 Tip: Recording and app usage happen at the same time—you don't have to wait until the session is over.

  1. Open the file and go to the "Session" tab
  2. Click "Upload File" or drag the file directly into the window

Review and complete the transcript

Once the transcription is complete, you will find the results directly in the session overview of the dossier.

  1. Open the session in the dossier—the transcript is immediately available
  2. Check names, technical terms, and statements for accuracy
  3. If necessary, add your own notes and observations directly during the session
  4. The transcript is now available to the AI as context

Do I have to record every session?

No—but it's worth it. The more complete the dossier is, the more contextually relevant mentalhealthGPT can mentalhealthGPT . Even individual uploaded documents or notes are valuable.

How long does a transcription take?

A 50-minute session is typically transcribed within 1–3 minutes. The time required depends on the audio quality and our workload.

What happens if the audio quality is poor?

mentalhealthGPT designed for the language used in everyday therapy and counseling sessions and handles common background noise well. If the audio quality is very poor, we recommend using a simple headset.

Is the audio data saved?

No. Audio is processed solely for transcription purposes and is deleted afterward. No permanent audio file is stored in the file. Only the encrypted transcript, structured documentation, and associated metadata are retained.

Can I upload a session after the fact?

Yes—you can add audio files to an existing file at any time, even if the session has already taken place.
